Police have impounded four high-performance sports cars after clocking the drivers going 105 km/h over the speed limit.

Commander Mike Bell, State Traffic Commander, explained to Perth Today host Simon Beaumont how three of the drivers were on P-plates and the fourth had a suspended learner’s permit.

Commander Bell said police were baffled when attempting to educate the drivers, referencing the fatal crash that took the life of Nick Campo last year.

“To have one of the passengers stick their hand up and go, actually I was friends with Nick, you’ve just got to take a step back and go, ‘what did you not learn out of your friend’s death in a car accident?’” he said.
