Almost a week has passed since obstetrician Rhys Bellinge allegedly crashed his Jaguar into a rideshare vehicle, killing Elizabeth Pearce and seriously injuring the driver, Muhammad Usman.

Yet, due to his condition, very little is known about the 25-year-old Uber driver.

Suresh Rajan, patient advocate, has explained to Perth Today host Simon Beaumont how it is unclear if his family has even been notified of the incident.

He suggested that the community needs to ensure he is taken care of.

“If he is an international student, that then raises this whole other layer of things around Medicare coverage and whether or not his hospital bills will be covered,” he said.
