Perth Airport left without power, passengers stranded
Western Power has switched off electricity supplies to Perth Airport while a storm-damaged power pole is repaired.
The outage, which is also affecting thousands of homes and businesses in the eastern foothills, has severely disrupted airport services.
Western Power says the damaged pole has brought a high-voltage conductor dangerously close to the ground.
It’s expected to take several hours for repairs to be complete.
Western Power says it understands the airport has back-up generators to keep critical operations going.
