A Perth CEO for an aged-care and disability service says we need to raise the age eligibility to 70.

Brightwater Care CEO Dr Catherine Stoddart spoke to 6PR Mornings host Gary Adshead and said it was time to reconsider how we define ageing and eligibility for aged-care services in Australia.

“We need to have a conversation about what would a healthy, capable 65 to 70-year-old that can contribute to the community look like versus putting everybody in the same box and saying at 65 you’re old,” Dr Stoddart said.
