Perth needs promotion to get international visitors
The number of international visitors to Perth is declining and the Tourism Council of WA says the State Government needs to do more or businesses will be lost.
We may not be able to compete with cheaper international locations, but we can compete with other States within Australia to lure international visitors to our side of the country according to the CEO of Tourism Council of WA told 6PR Breakfast.
“We’re never going to compete with Bali and we don’t want to,” Evan Hall told 6PR Breakfast.
“But we can compete with Queensland.”
“We have seen a huge boom in international tourism to Australia, we’re comparable to other States in Australia with what we offer and the prices that we charge,” Mr Hall says.
“But the other States are getting the visitors and we’re not and that’s because they’ve really invested in promoting themselves and we’ve got shy.”
