This month Perth is hosting the 24th World Transplant Games starting on the 14th of April, celebrating the strength of those who have undergone a transplant.

Originating in the United Kingdom, the games are one of the largest events raising awareness about transplants.

World Transplant Games Australian team captain Michael MacKinnon told 6PR Afternoons the event is all about celebrating life.

“A lot of people don’t understand what organ donation is until they have been through it,” said Mr MacKinnon.
