9News Perth reporter Amber Wilkinson joined 6PR’s Perth Today as Perth Zoo’s elephant Permai sets off on her 2000km journey to her new home.
Wilkinson told Russell Collett, “It’s been a really emotional morning at Perth Zoo for 35-year-old Permai. Her keepers and staff have come out to see her off as she heads to her new home in Adelaide.”
“As sad as this day is for Perth Zoo, her keepers know that this is what’s best for her and her welfare.”
