Dog owners will no longer need to register their dogs with local government as a new $10 million initiative called PetsWA is set to be introduced to combat puppy farming.

Hannah Dreaver from RSPCA WA spoke to 6PR Afternoons host Julie Anne Sprague about the benefits of this new registration system.

“Being able to have a centralised register where all the information is maintained in one location that can be accessed by regulatory bodies will really improve traceability,” she said.
