The Federal Government is set to announce $240 million in funding to build a new stadium in Tasmania and therefore allowing the state to have its own AFL team.

Tasmanian Independent economist Saul Eslake told Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons Tasmania is due for its own team.

“I think most Tasmanians will be pleased to have a team of their own,” said Mr Eslake.
