9 in 10 kids at Banksia Hill have severe neuro-disability
An Australia-first study at Banksia Hill Detention Centre has found nearly all the young people in custody had some form of severe neuro-developmental impairment.
Nine out of ten of the youth examined by Telethon Kids Institute researchers had some form of neuro-disability, and most had gone undiagnosed until the study.
Lead researcher, Professor Carol Bower told Mornings with Gareth Parker the findings are unprecedented.
