Tricia the Elephant is being honoured by having the newest Transperth Ferry named after her – MV Tricia.

The 62-year-old had her name nominated during the month long campaign to name the vessel and received large support from the public.

Transport Minister Rita Saffioti told Gareth Parker Tricia will also be featured inside the ferry.

Ms Saffioti also agreed to Gareth’s on the spot idea of a raffle for charity for seats on MV Tricia’s Inaugural voyage.
