Research shows more than 25% of construction workers are aged over 50, raising not only concerns about a skills shortage when they retire, but rising costs because young tradies are far less skilled than their older colleagues.
RLB Research and Development director Domenic Schiafone told Gareth Parker they’re seeing a demographic shift in various trades as there is more emphasis on education as well as technology allowing more off site work.
