Is ANZAC Day a diminishing cliche? A scoop by Andrew Burrell in The Australian has revealed recordings from a lecturer in Australian history at Murdoch Uni, Dean Aszkielowicz, saying the Gallipoli ANZACs are killers and the people who complete the yearly pilgrimage ANZAC Cove are just drunks.

“It is right and proper we remember their sacrifice and we honour it. That is what ANZAC Day means to me.”
