Around 600,000 jobs lost in April
Almost 600,000 people have lost their jobs, as the coronavirus downturn hits the economy.
New figures show the unemployment rate has climbed to 6.2 per cent in April.
It comes as business have been forced to make workers redundant, stand them down or reduce their hours.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison says there’s no point sugar-coating what is a bad result.
