Australia to lure Hong Kong businesses, as China tensions rise
Hong Kong businesses will be given incentives to shift their operations to Australia, under a new federal Government scheme.
The move is in response to China’s new national security laws to crackdown on dissent in the city-state.
Immigration Minister Alan Tudge told Oliver Peterson there will be plenty of competition to attract Hong Kong businesses to Australia.
The government will also extend skilled and student visas for Hong Kong citizens already in Australia.
