Animal activists have called for processed meats to taxed because bacon, ham and sausages cause cancer.

“According to the World Health Organisation cancer can be caused by smoking as much as it can be caused by eating processed meats, like bacon,” Laura Wayman-Jones a spokesperson from PETA told 6PR Breakfast.

“I’m a taxpayer myself, I don’t particularly want to be paying to put all of my friends or relatives through cancer therapy later in life, I don’t want to be paying for everyone to be sitting in hospital with diabetes, I’d rather prevent those things from happening,” she said to Steve and Baz before she challenge Millsy to eat “Fakon”.
