Big Sandi hangs up boots with Fremantle
After 270 games for the Fremantle Dockers, giant veteran ruckman Aaron Sandilands announced his retirement yesterday, stating he could no longer keep up with the physical demands of the game, due in part to an ongoing calf injury.
Standing at 211 centimetres tall, Sandilands is equal tallest player to ever play in the AFL and is the competition’s all-time leader in hit-outs.
With the Dockers set to give him a farewell home game against Essendon this Saturday night, Aaron and the boys look back at his career, with Hase and Big Sandi reminiscing about all the on and off field antics they had together at Freo.
