Centrelink changes flagged to help avoid reporting mistakes

It’s hoped to changes to Centrelink’s income reporting system stop welfare recipients from making mistakes which have their payments suspended.

Currently Newstart recipients have to project how much income they will receive in the next fortnight.

It means many people mis-calculate and end up getting kicked off welfare.

Social Services Minister Anne Ruston told Gareth Parker on Mornings the changes will stop that from happening.
