Corrective Services Commissioner ‘deeply & profoundly sorry’ after paedophile writes to victim’s sister

Police have been notified – after a convicted paedophile was able to contact the sister of one of his victims – by writing a letter from prison.

Michael Cyril Hyde was last year jailed for more than 12 years – after being convicted of sexually abusing three young girls.

He’s since sent a letter to the teenage sister of one of his victims – asking for help to appeal his conviction.

It’s believed he was able to send the letter through a third party.

Corrective Services Commissioner Tony Hassall told Gareth Parker on Mornings they’re looking into how it occurred.
