Over the last decade, suicide and antidepressant prescriptions among Australian children and teenagers have risen dramatically, despite warnings by the United States’ Food and Drug Administration of a link between higher risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviours and the use of antidepressants in people under 25 years of age.
