Eligibility expanded for COVID testing in WA from today

The state’s COVID clinics have expanded their testing criteria to allow anyone with a fever and respiratory symptoms to be tested for coronavirus.

Previously, a person was only tested if they had symptoms and had recently returned from overseas or had contact with someone who had travelled.

From today, anyone with symptoms can be tested, as well as those in high risk roles, such as health care, aged care, and police officers.

WA’s Chief Health Officer, Dr Andy Robertson told Gareth Parker on Mornings, says it will help them confirm there’s no outbreaks within the community.
