Experts Want More Three-Year-Olds In Pre-Kindy

Increasing enrolment in “pre-kindy” for three-year-olds would improve education outcomes and quality of life later on according to experts. There are calls for this to be subsidised in a similar way that kindy for four-year-olds currently is.

CEO of Early Childhood Australia Samantha Page joined Oliver Peterson on Perth LIVE to explain the advantages of making early education more accessible for three-year-olds.

“The evidence is really compelling. The best way to give children a good start to their education is through a quality play based pre-school program.

“It’s important people don’t think we’re just sending children to school at the age of three. It’s a play based program led by a qualified teacher but delivered in a way that children are learning through play.”
