Feed the frontline – Keep the healthcare army marching on
Double shifts, late nights and early mornings – our healthcare workers are in the trenches right now during the COVID-19 crisis. But who feeds these workers? When do they have time to go to the shops?
Chef Zac Wilkinson from A Moveable Feast Catering has seen business dry up due to restrictions on gatherings but they’ve got creative.
Mr Wilksinson’s wife is a nurse in the COVID clinic at RPH and it was her idea to help “feed the frontline” by offering not-for-profit meals to healthcare workers. They can order their own meals for no more than $10 or the public can choose to donate a meal. The meals will then be delivered.
“Healthcare workers are time poor. They could be pulling a double shift where the only get 20 minute break and wont get a chance to get something nutritious.
“We need to keep the army marching on their stomach really.”
