Fever clinics to be set up at Perth hospitals

So called ‘fever clinics’ will be set up at three major hospitals – as WA continues to brace for the spread of coronavirus.

The standalone facilities at Royal Perth – Fiona Stanley and Sir Charles Gardiner hospitals will allow patients with suspected COVID-19 symptoms to be checked by a doctor.

Health Minister Roger Cook says the clinics will be able to be scaled up as needed – but insists the situation in WA remains low risk – with no community spread.

More than 700 people have been tested for the virus is WA – all have returned a negative result.

The Government has also confirmed a public information campaign will be rolled out in coming days.
