First female train driver for scenic track
The train track in the Dandenong Rangers has been on the rails for 119 years, but it’s finally getting its first female train driver.
Puffing Billy volunteer Belinda McKenzie has worked her way up to the role over the past eight years, starting as an engine cleaner.
“I was a fireman for a number of years before being accepted into the trainee driver program a couple of years ago,” Ms McKenzie told 6PR Breakfast.
