Five time zones confusing Aussies
Daylight saving kicked in for some Eastern States on Sunday, which now means Australia has five different time zones.
An economist says it is complicated, especially with Adelaide’s half hour difference.
“It might be better to abolish that half hour and perhaps simplify it,” Tim Harcourt, the Airport Economist, told 6PR Breakfast.
“If we had three instead of five, that might simplify things.”
A 6PR Breakfast listener brought to our attention that the Euca, on the border of SA and WA, is 45 minutes difference, which makes it six time zones around the nation.
