The state opposition is calling on the McGowan Government to make cladding audits a priority after more private buildings have been added to the ‘at risk’ list.

Cladding is the material responsible for spreading the flames in the devastating Grenfell tower fire in London, which took the lives of 72 people.

Today Oliver Peterson spoke to Shadow Treasurer Dean Nalder about his concern that the Government is palming the issue off to a local level.

“It’s been 18 months since the Grenfell fires and we’ve seen what’s occurred in Melbourne this week.

“This must be a priority for the Government.”
