Flu vaccine shortage in WA
There has been a shortage of flu vaccines in WA with thousands of patients being turned away.
Dr Omar Khorshid AMA WA President told Lisa Barnes and Geof Parry that the Federal government didn’t anticipate the demand and there has been a shortage across the country.
More vaccinations are on the way with the Federal government sourcing an extra 800,000 nationally. It is recommended that at risk groups including people over 65 and children should be vaccinated because the flu can be deadly to them.
