This week’s AFL Rising Star nomination, Brennan Cox, impressed his Fremantle teammate Brandon Matera who said the youngster assisted the forward line.

“I thought the whole forward line was pretty good especially the big boys Brennan Cox and Scott Jones, made a contest all day and brought it to ground which allowed us little fellas to get to work,” Matera 6PR Breakfast.

Matera also spoke about the first time he went to the coach’s house for dinner and the nerves he felt during the occasion.
“Gave him some wine. We didn’t have it that night, we had to play in a couple days but I’m pretty sure he finished it off.”
