There are concerns the City to Surf is headed for financial strife, amid lower than expected participation numbers this year.

The fundraising event is believed to have just over 17,000 registered participants this year, compared to close to 30,000 last year.

However the Chief executive of Activ, Danielle Newport told Mornings with Gareth Parker they remain hopeful of a late surge last minute registrations.
