Hope for residents concerned by Hale Rd flyover

The State Government is advocating for Main Roads to ‘look at all the options’ when it comes to removing an intersection near Forrestfield.

A petition against the removal of the Tonkin Highway and Hale Road intersection has gathered over 2500 signatures by concerned residents.

The proposed plan would replace it with a flyover which residents are concerned will make it impossible to access Hale road from the highway

Transport Minister Rita Saffioti says two other nearby intersections first need to be upgraded.

“We’re just trying to work how we can include some potential ramps or other local access and I’ve asked Main Roads to work on it very hard… because I want to make sure local residents have some access,” Ms Saffioti told Gareth Parker.
