If the ACTU gets its way the minimum wage will be raised by $43 per week
The upcoming federal election is being framed as a referendum on wages, with the ACTU pushing for a $43 per week increase in the minimum wage – a pay rise of 6% – as the first step in a two year push to increase wages.
But James Pearson from the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry says it will mean job losses and that the impacts will be felt by small businesses and employees.
He joined Jane and Nathan Hondros this week to talk about the issue.
