“If you’re going to beat someone, beat Federer”: Millman’s dad

20-time Grand Slam Champion (and quokka lover), Roger Federer, was brought to his knees at the US Open by a little-known Queenslander, John Millman, yesterday and Millman’s dad says he’s very proud but hasn’t watched the match yet.

“I just thought it was another tennis game, but the attention that it’s been given, now I realise just how big it is and what an achievement it was, so it’s great.” Ron “The Fox” Millman told Steve and Baz.
“If you’re going to beat someone, beat Federer,” he says.

Millman’s dad is a school teacher and told 6PR Breakfast he was working at the time the match was on, but his son had plenty of friends at the New York venue to cheer him on, but actually watch Federer in action, he admitted; “they’ve flown over to see the Roger game.”
