International arrivals quarantined in hotels for 14 days

The Prime Minister has announced all international arrivals into Australia will be quarantined at facilities like hotels for 14 days to help stop the spread of the coronavirus in Australia.

Scott Morrison says arrivals will be quarantined in whichever port they arrived in, so if someone lives in Perth but arrives in Australia in Melbourne, they will be quarantined in Melbourne.

A significant number of Australia’s COVID-19 cases are directly related with overseas travel.

States will also be empowered to more rigorously enforce the self-isolation pledges of those people who have recently returned from overseas.
