Lead issue at PCH could be in WA schools
School children across Western Australia may be exposed to lead-contaminated water because the same plumbing materials plaguing Perth Children’s Hospital could also be in schools according to the chief executive of ChemCentre Peter McCafferty. He told a parliamentary inquiry today the same brass fittings responsible for leaching lead into the drinking water supply at the hospital were probably used in schools across the state. Shadow Health Minister Bill Marmion says it’s a concerning revelation.
