Mark McGowan says restrictions to be reviewed soon

Coronavirus figures in WA continue to trend in the right direction with the state only recording another eight new cases overnight.

Premier Mark McGowan told Mark Gibson on the Weekend Catch-Up it shows the current measures in place are working.

There have been growing suggestions restrictions can begin to be eased. Mr McGowan says they’ll be reviewing the measures every month.

“We’re going to review it regularly to see if there’s any restriction we’re doing that isn’t necessary and perhaps is causing social disharmony.

“That sort of review will happen toward the end of each month of the six month period.”

Mr McGowan revealed there’s five cruise ships that recently left Sydney to return to home ports but they need to come past us first. He admits he’ll feel better once they are safely past Fremantle.

“We’re waiting for them to come past and be on their way. Once they’re all on their way we’ll breathe a bit easier.”

The Artania cruise ship remains docked at Fremantle  and is expected to remain for a little longer yet.
