‘Mixed messages’ blamed for Perth’s slow to return to public transport
Mixed messages from the eastern states is being blamed on a slow uptake of Perth’s public transport, post-COVID.
Transport Minister Rita Saffioti says used dropped down to 12 percent as many people worked from home during the height of the crisis – and while many have now headed back to the office, capacity is still only at around 60 percent.
She says people may have been put off by Sydney and Melbourne news reports, urging people there to avoid buses and trains.
