New medical device that may reduce risks in common medical procedure
A new device is being developed by Monash University researchers to reduce the risk of complications following a common procedure to unblock clogged arteries.
Atherosclerosis affects millions of the people around the world.
Associate Professor Anthony Dear, from the Eastern Health Clinical School at Monash University spoke to Steve and Basil and said that even though the device was focused on treating narrowing in leg arteries, the procedure could easily be applied to other areas of the body, including coronary and neck arteries.
