New Rules For Doctors Prescribing Alternative Therapies
Doctors who prescribe alternative therapies would need to tell patients to get a second opinion and provide them with written information about risks with the therapy under new guidelines from the Medical Board of Australia.
Today Oliver Peterson spoke to Australia Medical Association WA President Dr Omar Khorshid about the Medical Board’s plan.
“Modern medicine is a scientifically based practice. Doctors have a responsibility to be very upfront with patients when suggesting treatments that are not evidence based.”
