No ‘Perth’ Stadium for cricket ODI

Tourism minister Paul Papalia has conceded the new Perth Stadium will be referred to as Optus Stadium for this month’s One day International between Australia and England, despite earlier assurances that it would retain ‘Perth’ in its name for international cricket events.

Opposition Tourism spokesperson Libby Mettam has hit-out at the State Government for failing to ensure ‘Perth’ was retained in the name when promoting the international cricket event.

Mr Papalia then joined Mornings with Gareth Parker to clarify the stadium naming arrangement.
