No properties damaged overnight in Yanchep bushfire

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services have confirmed no properties have been damaged overnight in the large fire still raging in Perth’s outer-north.

5000 hectares have been burnt through since the fire in Yanchep began on Wednesday afternoon.

No homes were damaged been with 5 metre fire walls  threatening some properties within metres. Containment lines are still being established in the Breakwater and Two Rocks area with temperatures set to hit 41 degrees.

Emergency warnings remain in place for the Two Rocks townsite, and the estates of Breakwater and Seatrees.

Authorities are just about to give an update to local residents at a community centre in Quinns Rocks.

DFES Incident Controller Andy Hinton says emergency services are asking people to take responsibility for their own safety.
