NSW border to close as Victoria records worst overnight COVID-19 increase

The border between New South Wales and Victoria will close overnight tomorrow as Victoria posts its worst set of coronavirus figures.

The state has recorded 127 new cases and one more death.

A man aged in his 90s the 21st person to die of coronavirus in Victoria and the 105th in the nation.

Premier Daniel Andrews says most of the new cases are within known hotspots.

3AW reporter Pat Mitchell told Gareth Parker on Mornings the Premier agreed with the decision to close the border.
