Perth beaches packed early on Good Friday

Despite warnings from the government and police, it appears people are flocking to Perth beaches.

While we haven’t been banned from beaches – under coronavirus restrictions – we’re being urged to just have a quick swim and head straight home.

Nine News Perth’s Kelly Haywood is at Cottesloe Beach and has told Gareth Parker she estimates around 300 to 400 people are at the beach and it looks like a normal day there.

Assistant Police Commissioner Paul Steel says WA Police are not inclined to close the beaches along the Perth coast but will if people aren’t doing the right thing.
