Perth’s north warned about dodgy air con installer

Consumer Protection has issued a fresh warning about a dodgy air-conditioner installer who is back in business across Perth – despite being banned from the industry.

There have been almost 200 complaints about Alwyn Robert Healy since 2005 – and in 2015 he signed a court order not to work in the industry for five years.

He began advertising his services again late last year and three customers have recently come forward – paying more than $21,000 for systems that are either incomplete or not working.

Mr Healy is now trading under the business name R.E.A.C.T.Air. In the past, he has either owned or worked for several businesses which included DualCycleAir, Affordable Home Comfort, Healthy Home Airconditioning and Aircon Factory Direct.

Consumer Protection Commissioner Lanie Chopping is urging people to avoid him at all costs.

One victim Patricia Surtees told Gareth Parker on Mornings she had paid a $2,600 deposit for installation at her Currambine home but didn’t get the air conditioner or a refund.
