Plan for trackless tram to Scarborough gathers steam

Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin says it should be full steam ahead on a $97 million plan to build a trackless tram between Scarborough and Glendalough Train Station.

Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack yesterday sent an open letter to local governments seeking assistance in fast tracking the delivery of land transport infrastructure projects on local roads.

Cr Irwin told Gareth Parker on Mornings the City had long been advocating and planning for rapid transit solution to connect Glendalough to Scarborough Beach and he’s confident it would be well used.
