Police minister pledges to address lack of information on sex predators

Simon Beaumont

Police minister Michelle Roberts says she’s concerned by several aspects of the case of a convicted paedophile, who was deported to Australia only to re-offend.

55 year old David Lindner was this week jailed for 11 years for sexually abusing two boys in regional WA, five years after he was deported from Canada for sex offences against his stepson.

Earlier this week, the father of one of Lindner’s 12 year old victims spoke on Mornings with Gareth Parker about the need to more closely monitor known sex offenders.

Today, Michelle Roberts conceded reform is needed.
