Poor Conduct Exposed In The Franchising Sector
The franchising industry is in the Government’s sights after a parliamentary inquiry into the sector.
A damning report was released today that calls for new laws, more enforcement and tougher penalties.
It states that the sector “manifestly failed to deter systemic poor conduct and exploitative behaviour and has entrenched the power imbalance”.
Nationals Senator John Williams was instrumental in bringing about the inquiry and today he spoke to Oliver Peterson about the findings.
“Hopefully this inquiry, with the huge recommendations and the Government acting on them, will bring fairness and transparency into this $170 billion industry in Australia.”
