Barbagallo Wanneroo Raceway has become the fourth venue to hold a night race in Supercars Championship history. Australian professional racing driver for Red Bull Holden, Jamie Whincup set a new lap record by over one full second in the first practice session on Thursday night.

In last night’s Virgin Australia Supercars Championship race Whincup finished 4th and is 7th overall in the Championship as of Race 1, last night.
