The boss of Racing and Wagering WA says he can’t guarantee the state’s retired racing horses haven’t been sent to an abattoir located north of Brisbane – which has been subject to an undercover investigation.

The ABC has revealed shocking treatment of horses at an abattoir in Caboolture in which 300 racehorses have been slaughtered in just 22 days.

Richard Burt says he’s unsure if horses in WA have been sent to the facility.
