British Sailor Tony Bullimore has died at the age of 79, he was famously rescued by the Australian Navy ship and given a Channel 7 cap to wear when he finally reached dry land.
A Channel 7 worker at the time handed Mr Bullimore the cap and he reflected on the rescue with Steve and Baz on 6PR Breakfast.
